A very belated happy new year to you all, true to the nature of this blog I've slacked some what on the posting again.
The beginning of this year has been one for changes again, I've left a job I really love to hopefully start making tracks in a new career path and go back into education. There are lots of factors to consider with this and a lot of obstacles in my way so I won't be going in to that just yet.
One of the thing I've updated this year is my evening skin care routine, so I wanted to share with you some of the products I've been using.
Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (dry): During the winter months my skin has become a bit dry, particularly around my nose and my chin. I saw this on Feel Unique and thought I'd give it a whirl and I love it. I use it like a hot cloth cleanser (pretty much how I use all my cleansers), I apply it to the skin dry and rinse away with a flannel. It removes the majority of my make up, just leaving behind the eye make up and the brows! It's really improved the dry patches on my skin and has a rich creamy consistency which leaves my face feeling lovely and soft.
Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover: I use a pretty amazing brow product which I'll discuss in a later post, but it's so good that I struggle to get it off in the evening. This product is great for removing any remaining eyeliner and brow product and does it so gently. Some eye makeup removers I've used in the past have been quite harsh and often left me with sore eyes which has put me off using them but this is so gentle (hence the name) and it doesn't leave me with with puffy red eyes!
Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Toner (dry): The cleanser and the toner came together in a package which was a nice bonus! Again I love the fact this targets dry skin, this leaves my face feeling really soft and refreshed.
Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme Anti Age Cream: I adore this cream! I use this in the evening and in the morning before I apply my makeup. It may seem strange that I'm 24 and I'm using an anti ageing product but It's never too early to start defying time. This has really helped with my dry patches, its super light weight but really hydrates and revitalises my skin. It's a little on the pricey side so It's definitely an indulgence purchase when I'm feeling particularly flush.
I also have a few skin care products which I use less frequently throughout the week in the evenings...
Palmers Gentle Exfoliating Scrub: I use this about twice a week to get rid of my nasty black heads. I opted for this as it contains cocoa and shea butter as well as aloe vera and evening primrose which all aid in calming and soothing the skin. It's also super cheap at around £5 and comes in a large size that will last ages. It's amazing at scrubbing away at blackheads and leaves my skin feeling super soft, it's even been gentle on my dry skin areas.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +: I'm pretty fortunate as I've never suffered from acne or bad spots, however I do get the occasional break out on my chin when I'm a bit hormonal. I've definitely blogged about how amazing this product is before, but its particularly great for targeting these problems areas. My redness and spots can disappear within 24 hours of using this product and it doubles up as a great primer before applying make up.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask: I use this about twice a week as it's a really rich treatment product. I love the way my skin feels the morning after using this, it always look radiant and dewy the following day. Again it may seem slightly expensive but It lasts forever so is definitely worth the investment.
