A Week in the West Country

So as I mentioned before one of the reasons I've been a bit quiet on the blogging front recently is that I went for a weeks break with my family and my boyfriend to Somerset.

We actually stayed in a place called Cheddar Woods in Cheddar which unsurprisingly is the home of cheddar cheese. Weirdly I don't think I actually ate any cheddar whilst in Cheddar but my boyfriend assures me it was some very nice cheese.

Anyway, the place we stayed had only just opened and it was so nice. We stayed in these little cabins which were all really lovely and modern and we had our own hot tub so it was really really cool. While we were there we visited the city of Wells, we looked around the cathedral and even ended up having a drink in a pub featured in the film Hot Fuzz. We also obviously visited Cheddar Gorge itself and went round all the caves and climbed 274 steps to see over the whole of Cheddar, and on the hottest day we took a trip down to Weston Supermare. Finally we obviously saved the best until last and went to Longleat Safari Park, where I was in my element. There were monkeys jumping on my dads car (much to his annoyance) and we got to go around Lord Baths house which was very regal and full of old things. And because we visited the Gorge first we saved around £15 on our tickets by purchasing an all in one Gorge and Longleat ticket, so if you're going to see all the sights, make sure you go to the Gorge first!

Its not exactly a week in Greece but it was a lovely week a way and I'd highly recommend visiting Somerset for  break a way if you haven't already been. If you're interested in looking into the place I stayed please click here for the website.
